mic fft sonifier · room sound + hash on the audio chain · gate & band hone · not an em field meter · runs locally
a microphone measures air pressure, not watt-per-square-meter rf. it never “hears” radio the way an antenna does. what you get here is acoustic energy in the room plus electrical noise coupled into the mic preamp / adc — still interesting, but honest.
fft + waterfall make that audible path visible and sonified. fan hum, keystrokes, and quiet-room noise dominate unless you crank the gate down. downstream “pattern” tags are coarse timing guesses on gated bursts — not bluetooth or lte identification.
raw mic input · no echo cancellation, no noise suppression · calibrates for 4s then applies the gate against the measured baseline
